Bee Balm Monarda spp.

Monarda, or Bee Balm, is a gorgeous member of the Mint family. An explosion of color sitting atop stems reaching up to 4' bring hummingbirds and butterflies around the yard in addition to many species of solitary bees. The blooms can also be used when dried to make teas to help handle unsettled stomachs. We dry the leaves when pruning mid-season to use as a replacement for oregano.
